Coronavirus Poster for Your Workplace to Post by April 1, 2020

Hot off the presses---we have the required FMLA leave expansion workplace poster that must go up by April 1 related to COVID-19
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act goes into effect on Wednesday, April 1, and requires most employers to provide employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. If you are an employer with fewer than 500 employees, this applies to you. If you have questions about how this statute applies to you and your employees, we are available to answer them.
One provision of this statute requires that employers add yet another poster to their already crowded walls of required workplace postings by next Wednesday. Just yesterday, the Department of Labor issued the required workplace poster for this statute. It is available for download from https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/posters and is also attached here.
This is required to be posted “conspicuous place on [the employer’s] premises.” For those of us working remotely now or always, an employer may satisfy this requirement by emailing or direct mailing this notice to employees or posting this notice on an employee information internal or external website. Be sure to get this posted conspicuously---better yet, email or mail it to your employees before next Wednesday.
For more information or questions about this posting or any other employment laws, please contact Ross Schwartz, Dick Semerdjian, Kevin Cauley, John Moot, Sarah Evans or John Schena.
